The ECOLABEL INTERNATIONAL "KEY GREEN EDITION 2011, ATTRIBUTED TO 60 TOURIST ACCOMMODATIONS IN MOROCCO
The Main mission of Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection (FM6E), under the Presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa is Environmental Education and awareness raising. The International Green Key Eco-label managed by FM6E on behalf of FEE aims to promote the development of responsible tourism to tourist accommodation professionals whose membership is voluntary according to predefined criteria.
60 institutions have raised the Green Key in 2011: 29 hotels, 23 guesthouses; guest farms 3 and 4 gites, representing an increase of 50% from the 2010 edition. The 2011 was also marked by the visit of candidates accommodations to ensure their involvement in the implementation of a progressive approach to environmental management.
In Morocco , this program is supported by the National Office of Tourism in Morocco (ONMT) and the Ministry of Tourism.
For mentioning, the Green Key label is the first network of ecological tourism accommodation, friendly environment, relocated in 22 member countries of the International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) for 1400 accredited institutions.
