The Quality:
An approach and a challenge launched by the Tourism Department for the enhancement of the level of tourist services
The current tourist context is highly competitive. It is characterized by the globalization of supply and demand and the internationalization of the tourist enterprise. Therefore, it is imperative that quality should be prioritized in order to guarantee the competitiveness and the durability of the enterprise and, as a result, of the destination.
What matters is that we should develop a quality integrated management strategy which requires a close cooperation between all the public and private actors as well as between all the sectors at every level of responsibility (local, regional, national and international).
The Moroccan tourist sector is partly in line with this strategy through the 2010 Vision and it strives for the development of a total quality plan whose ultimate aim is to consolidate its brand image.
Putting in place of the quality approach:
A quality approach is by nature a management approach. Within the framework of the 2010 Vision, more precisely the axes of "the environment building-site ", the approach of quality has become particularly important. Many efforts have been made in order to make a good management and to achieve the main objectives, namely:
- To make the Moroccan product and tourist service comply with the national and international market standards;
- To ensure the durability of the national tourist product by guaranteeing the satisfaction of all the customers and partners.
Because of this, the putting in place of this sustainable approach of quality improvement is an essential strategy in order to allow Morocco to be a competitive destination.
Institution of the Technical Committee of the Standardization of Tourism and related services .
Therefore, to adopt an adequate quality approach is a decisive element to achieve the objectives set forth for the development of national tourism. Such an approach requires first the availability of a frame of reference of quality norms covering this sector.
It is within this framework that the Technical Committee of the Standardization of Tourism and Related Services has been instituted in the Tourism Department, under the presidency of the Direction of Enterprises and Tourist Activities and in close collaboration with the Service of the Moroccan Industrial Standardization (SNIMA) in order to elaborate quality Moroccan Norms (NM) appropriate for the sector.
Its members are designated to represent at best the professionals and the administrations concerned by the norms projects.
