Central Departments

Direction of Planning and Investments

  • To elaborate the policy of areas intended for tourism
  • To contribute to the setting up of a landed reserve in the field of tourism, in collaboration with ministerial departments and concerned organizations
  • To make sure, in collaboration with concerned departments, that tourist facilities payable by the State are indeed realized
  • To study all the measures likely to encourage tourist investments
  • To elaborate technical studies in order to define the norms relating to the classification and to the running of tourist establishments
  • To examine the projects concerning the realization of accomodation and entertainment units as well as the means of tourist transport, in accordance with the legislation relating to tourist investments.

Direction of Planning and Coordination of Promotion

  • Development of a tourist promotion strategy
  • Coordination with the public and private organizations for the promotion of the moroccan tourist product
  • Follow- up of the implementation of the strategy relating to the organized activities and to the development of tourist product
  • Coordination of different events intended for tourism, at national and international level
  • Preparation and execution of all censuses, investigations, surveys and tourist studies
  • Centralization and treatment of the diffusion of tourist statistics
  • Follow- up of the tourist sector situation, its evolution and its impact on the national economy
  • To make forecasts and projection on tourism in the medium and long terms.
  • Implementation of national and regional tourist development plans
  • Drafting of balance sheets and reports relating to the execution of the plan, of the assessment of the results achieved and of the definition of the necessary adjustments

Administrative and Financial division

  • Development of the projects of legislative and statuary texts, and follow-up of their implementation
  • Preparation of the budget and its execution
  • Management of the staff's concerns
  • Supply of vehicles, and equipments necessary for the functioning of the ministry and the management of such facilities
  • Development of the ministry’s social issues.

Direction of Enterprises and Tourist Activities

  • Follow-up of the actions of the whole tourist enterprises within the framework of legislations and regulations in force, and more particularly concerning the respect of technical norms of classification
  • Classification of tourist establishments, in accordance with the regulations in force
  • Study of the files relating to the approval applications of travel agencies, of the classification of accommodation and catering establishments, tourist means of transport and the authorization to exercise the tour guide profession.

Direction of the Training and Cooperation

  • To make sure of the creation, of the organization and of the management of tourist and hotel training institutes
  • To establish training programs, to make sure of their implementation and to define teaching methods,
  • To ensure the training and the improvement of the executives for the whole tourist and hotel sector
  • To make sure of the establishment, the maintaining and the consolidation of the cooperation relations, both from a bilateral point of view and in terms of relations with the specialized international organizations.
