Project in support of the establishment of the Competence-Based Approach (APC)

Title of the program  

Re-engineering of the professional training system according to the Competence-Based Approach.

Objectives and results of the project: :

•  To increase the adaptation capacity of human resources from a qualitative and quantitative point of view,  in order to accompany the tourist investment;
•  To strengthen the capacity of the moroccan, professional training system so that the latter may look after the re-engineering process of the Professional Training according to the Competence-Based Approach ;
•  To restructure the training courses of study and to create new fields.
•  To experiment the setting up of the APC which is under way, within the Specialized Institute of Hotel and Tourist  Applied Technology of Marrakech (ISTAHT).

Length of the project: 4 years (1 st stage)

•  Date of starting up : October 2003
•  Date of completion : September 2007

Objectives of the APC

• To meet a better Supply/Demand balance and therefore Training-Profession;
• To strengthen the relations with the professionals so that they may be involved in the whole  training process: writing of programs, selection of candidates, assessment of  trainees, demonstrations which benefit trainees, supervision and improvement of trainees and trainers, insertion.

The progress of the project:

•  Restructuring and setting up of 3 courses of study according to the APC in 2005-2006:
     -  Hotel reception
     -  Room service « Restaurant »
     -  Cuisine
•   Restructuring of 3 courses of study for the year 2006:

   Floor employees « qualification level » - tourist welcome - Management Techniques            of Food Services and Catering « Specialized Technician Level ».

In accordance with the logical framework of the APC, 7 courses of study should be developed according to the APC in the Hotel and Tourist sector.
