The Tangier International Higher Institute of Tourism was established by the Ministry of Tourism in 1972. It is unique in Africa and the Arab world. Since July 14^th, 1987 and further to the resolution passed for that purpose by The General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization and the agreement signed between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the General Secretariat of this Organization, the institute has taken the name of the International Higher Institute of Tourism (ISIT). The institute's mission is to train top executives qualified to assure the conception, the promotion and the rational management of the tourist product and the tourist and hotel enterprises on the basis of the most modern techniques suited to the specificities of this sector. In order to reach its main objectives, the International Higher Institute of Tourism is equipped with many facilities and means which may enable it to fulfil its ambitions including:

An active, multidisciplinary and progressive education organized in the form of interactive courses, practical work, case studies and fictitious games;

University teachers and practitioners having a professional background and who bring their experience and their known-how;

Pedagogical and didactic materials (libraries, language laboratory, audiovisual equipment, computer centre, screening room etc).

The 2010 Vision has put a particular focus on the need to develop highly qualified staff (top management) in hotel business and tourism. The ISITT is called upon to play a key role as a strategic lever to support the sector and to be in close synergy with the public and private offer relating to higher education in Morocco .

Target public : young Moroccans under 25 years old who are anxious to pursue a higher education in Hotel Management or Tourism.

Admission : 1st cycle: it requires a competitive examination; it is open to candidates holding a Baccalaureate all option together (for tourism option); Baccalaureate in Economics/Trade/Accountancy or a Diploma of Technician in Hotel Business for the Hotel Management option (see the procedures of the entrance examination).

2nd cycle: it requires a competitive examination; it is open to candidates holding a diploma of the 1 st cycle of the ISITT or a University Diploma taken after two years' study (DEUG) in Economics - Management.
