His Majesty the King has opened and inquired about several tourist projects in Marrakech.
On Thursday, February 28, His Majesty the King Mohammed VI launched the opening of the development of several large-scale tourist projects, with an overall investment of about 30 billion DH, and inquired about the realisation of other projects in the same sector.
So the Sovereign has carried out the launching of the operation of the tourist development project, "Chrifia", whose cost amounts to 4 billion 600 million DH and which will be realised within the framework of a partnership between "Sama Dubai" group and the General Real Estate Company (CGI) which comes under the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG).
Between 2003 and 2007, 913 tourist projects, with an overall investment of around 112 billion DH, have been validated ,thereby permitting the creation of 75.888 jobs and the growth of the bed capacity of the hotel establishments to reach 95.616 beds.
The tourist sector represents 71% of the global investments amount in the region and the welcome capacity passed from 5.000 beds in 2003 to about 40.000 beds i n 2007 .
