The Observatory of Tourism renews its authorities
The work of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Observatory took place on Monday, July 7, 2008 in Rabat at the headquarters of the Tourism Department, in the presence of Mr Mohamed Boussiad, the Minister of Tourism and Handicraft. This meeting was dedicated to the presentation of the annual report for the financial year 2007, in addition to the 2007 settlement of accounts of the Observatory.
On that occasion, the administrators handed in their resignations, in accordance with the statutes, before undertaking the co-option of the new administrators of the Tourism Observatory.
The Annual General Assembly of the Observatory was convened at the conclusion of that meeting in order to approve all the reports and financial accounts presented during the board meeting.Thus, a quietus was issued to the outgoing administrators. The General Assembly undertook also to ratify the appointments of the new administrators coming under the private sector and to renew the terms of office of the administrators representing the public sector.
For that purpose, Mr Kamal Bensouda, the Managing Director of Atlas Hospitality Morocco (a hotel subsidiary of the Royal Air Maroc Group ), was appointed new President of the Observatory of Tourism.
In address to the participants, Mr Mohamed Boussaid considered that the Tourism Observatory, as a strategic and essential tool for the sector, requires the involvement of all the tourism professionals, both on the moral and financial level.
In addition, Mr Mohamed Boussaid paid tribute to Mr Fouad Chraibi, the previous president of the Observatory of Tourism, for all the efforts he had made to structure the Observatory. Besides, the Minister wished a stunning success for Mr Bensouda who was appointed head of the Observatory of Tourism, a monitoring body which stands for the success of the public/ private partnership.
