Risma group will invest 1, 4 billion DH in some tourist projects in Morocco
On March 17, 2009 , the Moroccan Government and the tourist Group, Risma, signed a memorandum of understanding in Marrakech, with a view to producing a range of investment tourist projects in the next years in several towns of the Kingdom.
Pursuant to this memorandum, the Risma group will embark on an ambitious investment program by the year 2012 valued at 1, 4 billion DH. This program consists in the construction of about a thirty hotel units with a capacity of 6000 beds and the establishment of more than 1000 direct jobs.
This memorandum has been signed by Mr Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Tourism and Handicraft and Mr Yann Caillère, member of the Oversight Council of Risma and of the Executive Committee of the Accor group as well as by Mr Azeddine Guessous, president of the Maghrebail (BMCE group) and member of Risma's Oversight Council.
The investment program concerns the hotels of the Accor group and more particularly those rated from 2 to 5 stars. The Accor group is considered to be the major shareholder of Risma.
The State, for its part, will support the Risma group in its projects and enable it to get many facilities related to tariff and tax advantages granted to foreign investors, in accordance with the rules and regulations established.
t is worth noting that this memorandum may be perceived as a perfect reflection of the lasting involvement of the Accor group, through Risma, in its policy of tourist development in Morocco .
