Day devoted to the presentation and the signature of the regional tourist development program (PDRT) of Fez - Boulemane

The regional tourist development program was launched on Friday in Fez . It is an integral part of a series of similar programs which will be signed for other regions of the country, more particularly Casablanca , Ouarzazate-Zagora and Meknes-Tafilalet .
Taking part in the day devoted to the presentation and the signature of this regional tourist development program (PDRT) of Fez- Boulemane , in the presence of Mr Adil Douiri , Minister of Tourism, Handicraft and Social Economy, Mr Jettou has reminded the participants of the high royal instructions contained in the royal speech of January, 10, 2001 on the occasion of the National Meetings on Tourism. During that tourist event, the King has drawn the program and the necessary actions to be undertaken to reach 10 million of tourists by the year 2010.

In order to make this royal will a reality, the Prime Minister has pointed out to the participants that the Government, in close cooperation with the sector's professionals, has undertaken to elaborate precise and "punctual" programs which are likely to ensure the necessary means for the achievement of this national objective.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister has touched on the main steps achieved within the framework of the Azur Plan, alluding thus to the tourist seaside resorts of Saidia , Larache , Haouzia and Essaouira , and noting that Taghazoute's station will be among the next achievements.
These positive results have contributed to the launching of a tourist regional development program, on the basis of in-depth studies of the regions and their particularities. The first PDRT is centred around the city of Fez It reflects the availability of the Government to accompany local authorities in the fulfilment of this program, as well as the financial backing accorded by the State to the regional council of tourism (CRT).

The importance of the (PDRT) of Fez is embodied in the financial budget (3 billion DHS) distributed among the public sector (940 million DHS), the " Caisse de Depôt et de Gestion "(CDG) and private investments (2 billion DHS).
