Domestic tourism : Selection of Tour Operators
The examination meeting of the final tender files concerning candidates having answered the call for "Interest Manifestation " relating to the selection of TO for domestic tourism was held on December,5,2005.
This call was launched on May 19, 2005, jointly by Tourism Department, the National Federation of Tourism and the National Federation of Travel Agencies of Morocco.
At the end of the meeting concerning the assessment of the final tender files, the Management Committee selected 3 companies, 2 of which are still exercising at travel agencies and the other one is working in the distribution.
2 Tenderers having already exercised the activity of travel agency ( business) :
- Atlas Voyages;
- Holidays Services
1 Tenderers exercising in the distribution :
- Mobilephone Consortium/Manzeh Diafa; Mobilephone : distribution of products and services of Meditelcom;
Manzeh Diafa belonging to Rahal Group : factual matters, conference and Catering ;
The negociations should begin soon with the selected candidates to finalize the partnership Conventions (agreements) with Tourism Department.
The selected entities should begin to operate in 2006. During 3 years, the State will accompany these Tour Operators on the basis of a co-financing of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) through promotional campaigns in Morocco.
