The 2015 Vision for Handicraft : Pilot Operation of marketing in MARJANE'S distribution network

Within the framework of the new national strategy of the craft industries, the Handicraft Department, through "la Maison de l'Artisan" (Public Organization in support of the marketing of Handicraft) and Marjane hypermarkets trade name have launched a joint operation concerning the promotion/sales of moroccan handcrafted products over the whole MARJANE'S distribution networks across Morocco.

This pilot operation is one of a series of promotional measures concerning handcrafted products intended for culture, and that is all thanks to the modern distribution networks.

Being centred around the theme : " la Maison de l'Artisan and Marjane : together for the promotion of the moroccan handicraft", this event, which will start up in 12 Marjane shops from February, 20 to March, 6, 2006, revolves around the following objectives :

i. To meet the expectations of the moroccan clientele in big cities, as far as the moroccan handcrafted products are concerned;

ii. The promotion of the moroccan handcrafted products through Marjane's chain network, with a view to organizing gradually a regular distribution of handcrafted products.

The commercial offer made within the framework of this pilot operation comprises various handcrafted products : furniture, textile, decoration, pottery etc.

This pilot action is in line with a new approach initiated in close cooperation with national and international distribution networks. It is also intended as a means to supply regularly the customers, who are very fond of moroccan art of living, with such products.

It is worth noting that the new national strategy concerning handicraft sets itself the main goal of creating additional employments (117.500 new jobs by the year 2015).

The 2015 Vision for handicraft is but a voluntarist strategy which does its utmost to make of this sector an economic driving force in terms of job creation and export. Such a vision, the elaboration of which went back to 2005, is intended as a means to grant customer's request as regards handcrafted products and the art of living.

To put it clearly, the offer is designed for the moroccan clientele living in big cities as well as for the major economic partners of Morocco.

The 2015 vision revolves around the construction and the emergence of an important production fabric which is likely to supply the national and international main distribution networks with splendid handcrafted products.
