Tangier welcomes the 6 th International Tourism Meetings from March 31 to April 1, 2006
Being marked by the presidency of His Majesty, the King Mohammed VI, this event gathers annually more than a thousand national and international visitors.
Since the Founding Speech pronounced by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, on January,2001 in Marrakech, defining the development strategy of the tourist sector by the year 2010, the International Tourism Meetings have been considered as an important annual appointment for institutional clients, and national and international professionals and investors, with a view to giving an up-to-the-minute report on the accomplishments and the progress of the Program Contract which binds the Moroccan public sector to the private one.
During this 2006 edition, a particular focus will be on the new chart of destinations, the prospects offered by the Open Sky policy signed with the U.E, the E-tourism, as well as the promotion and the positioning on the strategic markets.
The great novelty of this 6 th edition of International Tourism Meetings is the organization of "an Investment Market", an opportunity for the national and international operators to make concrete the partnership relations concerning investment projects of high potential.
As a reminder of the signature of the Framework-Agreement concluded between the Tourism National Federation and the moroccan Government on October 29,2001 , it should be noted that clear objectives were assigned to both parties. It is about the setting up of institutional, financial and human structures, with a view to conducting and supervising the building sites of this ambitious project concerning the "2010 Vision". The latter aims at :
- The welcome of 10 million tourists by the year 2010;
- The creation of 160 000 additional beds;
- The creation of 600.000 jobs;
- An overall investment of 90 billion dirhams.
