A partnership convention of 15,76 MDH for the projects « Tourist Host Country(Pays d'accueil Touristique ) of the Haut Atlas Central (PAT)
A partnership convention involving several intervening parties was signed on May, 18, 2006 in Azilal, for the realization of the projects "Tourist Host Country of the Haut Atlas Central" (PAT), the cost of which comes to 15.760.000 DH.
This partnership convention brings together the Minister of Tourism, Handicraft and Social Economy, the Minister of Rural Development, The High Commissioner of Forestry and the Fight against Desertification, the Social Development Agency, Tadla-Azilal Regional Council, Azilal's Provincial Council, the Association of Mgoun Geopark, and Azilal's Province.
Lasting three months, the convention is intended mainly to set up a coordination and reference framework between the parties concerned in order to ensure the necessary approaches for the achievement and the development of the PAT.
It is also intended to make sure of the realization, at the level of each PAT, of the sub-projects related to welcome, accommodation, entertainment, without necessarily forgetting the attendant measures and the ones having to do with the protection of environment. Such a convention plans to carry out specific actions (recreation, mending of paths and other studies) at the level of the Ait Bouguemmaz valley, of the Aït Bou-Woulli and Tassaout, as well as the splendours of Ouzoud waterfalls, the Bine-El Ouidane lake, the natural bridge of Imi N'ifri/Lwarden, of Zaouiet Ahenssal and Tamga.
The distribution of the financing is up to 9.609.000 Dhs for the regional council, 1603 000 DH for the forestry authority, 1355.000 DHS for the tourism sector, 970 000 DHS for the Geopark-Mgoun association, 600.000 DHS for the provincial Council, 534.000 DHS for the Social Development Agency and 405.000 DHS for rural development.
A committee made up of the representatives of different parties will ensure, under the presidency of Azilal's "gouverneur", the follow-up of the project, in close collaboration with a secretariat led by a local Coordinator of the PAT.
This committee will also define the second stage of the project at the end of the convention program.
