Signature of a Partnership Framework Convention with the 24 Chambers of Handicraft

The Craftsman's House, a Public Establishment in charge of the promotion of Morocco's Handicraft, carried out the signature of a Partnership Framework Convention with the 24 Chambers of Handicraft on June, 27,2006. This ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Handicraft and Social Economy.

Such a Convention is part of a Development Strategy of Handicraft, 2015 Vision, and more particularly of a policy in support of urban and rural craftsmen.

At this prospect, the Craftsman's House takes charge of the financing concerning the organization of Handicraft Regional Fairs, and undertakes to design the relevant communication materials. 27 Regional Fairs will be prepared and accompanied by an appropriate communication plan.

These actions will require a budget of 5 million DHS. The Regional Fairs, which are set up by the Handicraft Chambers, with the cooperation of the Handicraft Regional Delegations, allow the mono craftsmen to make their products known to the customers of the region as well as to the national consumers and tourists.

They constitute also an opportunity for the mono craftsman producer , and notably the rustics, to meet directly his customers. These regional Fairs are also perceived as a means to exchange experiences. At least 10% of the space of Fairs is designed for the rural mono craftsmen. The exhibition of craftswomen' local produces is highly encouraged.

In addition, the Craftsman's House carries out some communication materials designed as a means to let the customers discover the local products and the main sales area concerning handicraft such as handicraft tourist circuits, Fondouks, Handicraft Complexes etc.
