A mega project for Marrakech
An investment convention of about 2 billion DHS was signed on September 12, 2006, in Rabat under the presidency of the Prime Minister, between Morocco and the multinational company "Domaine Palm Marrakech" and that for the creation of a golfing tourist project of high quality in Tamesloht (Marrakech).
This investment outline-agreement revolves around the achievement, on a plot of land with an area of 255 hectares, of an investment of more than 1.877 million DH (including about 1.270 million DH for the tourist part). Such an investment will contribute to the creation of more than 5300 beds (including 2500 beds in hotel business : hotels and guests' houses). The first hotel unit of this program, with a capacity of 720 beds, will carry the trade name of Royal Palm, an upmarket sign peculiar to Beachcomber (a well-known company located on Mauritius). Beachcomber owns and manages 9 luxury hotel units in the Indian Ocean (Mauritius and the Seychelles).
It will also own the Royal Palm Marrakech Hotel.
Recreational equipments are also planned within the framework of this investment program : Spa, a golf course of 18 holes, a Country Club, a trading village etc.
The above mentioned investment program will be achieved over a period of 5 years (3 stages) and it will eventually contribute to the creation of 1545 direct jobs.
