Morocco participates in the second meeting of the international working party on sustainable tourism
Morocco will take part in the second meeting of the international working party on sustainable tourism which will be held 12-14 March, 2007, in Paris at the Head Office of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This working party aims to highlight the "good practices" in the field of sustainable tourism and to develop the practical details of a tourism which shows respect for local cultural identities and environment" said Mr Jean- Baptiste Mattei, the spokesman for French Foreign Office.
The "good practices" will be the subject of the White Book that France will publish before the end of the first half of the year 2007.The international working group on tourism was created on France 's initiative at the beginning of the year 2006, further to the World summit of sustainable tourism in 2002.
This group comprises about fifteen countries (France, Germany, Australia, United-States, Norway and United-Kingdom for industrialized countries, Bahamas, Brazil, Morocco, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cape Verde islands, Madagascar and Mali for developing countries) and the European-Union, international organizations, in particular the WTO, the UNCTAD, the OECD, and the UNICEF as well as the representatives of professional and non governmental organizations.
