The honorary prize of tourism, for the MENA region, is granted to the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT )

The honorary prize of tourism and travel for the Middle-East and North Africa region (MENA) has been granted to the Moroccan National Tourist Office for its efforts to promote Moroccan tourism.

This prize has been won on the basis of the results of a survey carried out by the "Consultant of Hospitality Administrators" group, in collaboration with the consulting firm, "Price Waterhouse Coopers", and which concerns around 75 thousand tourist establishments in the MENA region.

The prize has been given to Mr Tayebi Ahmed Al Khattab, the Regional Director of the ONMT for the Middle-East and Asia , during a ceremony organized alongside the 4 th edition of the Arab Travel Market Trade Show held from May 1, to May 4 in the United Arab Emirates .

In 2006, the number of tourists from the Middle East who visited Morocco showed a 12 pc increase.

The ONMT has participated in this edition with a pavilion in the form of an Andalusian Riad stretching over an area of 150 square metres besides 2600 exhibitors coming from 64 Arab and foreign countries
