Mr Mohammed Boussaid, Minister of Tourism and Handicraft
His Majesty Mohammed VI, accompanied by His Royal Highness, Prince Moulay Rachid, presided over the nomination ceremony of the new government on Monday, October 15, 2007 early in the afternoon at the Throne room in the Royal Palace of Rabat.
During that ceremony, Mr Mohammed Boussaid was appointed Minister of Tourism and Handicraft.
Mr Boussaid was born on September 26,1961 , in Fez .
In 1986, he obtained a civil engineering degree at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées –ENPC- Paris (industrial engineering) and in 2000, he got a Master of Business Administration at the ENPC School of International Management.
From 1986 to 1992 he worked as a consulting engineer at the Commercial Bank of Morocco . Afterwards, he was appointed to the post of Deputy Managing Director of a production and trading company of chemical products (1992- 1994).
From 1994 to 1995, he was in charge of a portfolio at the Direction of big enterprises at the Moroccan Bank of Trade and Industry (BMCI).
Mr Boussaid worked also as the Chief of the staff of the Minister of Civil Engineering Works, and then as the Chief of the staff of the Minister of Agriculture, Equipment and Environment (1995- 1998).
From 1998 to 2001, he was appointed to the post of Director of Programs and Studies at the Ministry of Equipment and from 2001 to 2004 he became Director of Public Establishments and Participation and afterwards he worked as a Director of Public Enterprises and Privatization at the Ministry of Finance and Privatization.
In 2004, he was appointed to the post of Minister in charge of the Modernization of the Public Sectors.
Mr Boussaid is a member of the executive committee of the National Rassemblemen t/Gathering of Independents.
