31-10-2007

In its edition of Sunday, October 28, “The Sunday Times”, the British weekly, said that thanks to the perception of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI for the development of Morocco , the Kingdom keeps on arousing the interest of the British investors.

In an article entitled “ Mad about the Medina: the British buyers storm Morocco ”, the weekly points out that Morocco, thanks to its varied landscapes and age-old civilization, keeps on exerting its charm over the British nationals in search of fairly profitable investment in the sector of property.

In the past, the British people who used to make a purchase in Morocco belonged to a kind of adventurers in search of Riads and more spacious houses in the old medinas and Kasbahs of the Kingdom, the Sunday Times noted, indicating that, at present, a lot of British people who are heading for Morocco are encouraged by ambitious development projects launched in several regions of the country.

These development projects, launched under the supervision of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, include mainly the construction of six seaside resorts/ stations : one on the Mediterranean and five others on the Atlantic , the weekly added, pointing out that the development vision of His Majesty the King is of beneficial impact.

Within the framework of this vision, the Government has raised more than 220 million pounds sterling for the fulfilment of some infrastructure projects, the publication noted, reminding people of the ambition of Morocco to attract around 10 million tourists annually by the year 2010.

According to ‘The Sunday Times' Marrakech which is “the most fashionable destination of Morocco, where East meets West, is considered as one of the most promising markets in terms of real-estate investment, next to the other imperial city of Fez which offers to the visitor an image of cultural diversity of Morocco as well as of its age-old charm.

Tangier, where some important projects are underway, is another destination for investors, the British weekly added, indicating that the property prices in the city of Straits should rocket in case it would be chosen to host the international trade show in 2012.
