Four tenderers for the Development of Cala Iris's New Tourist Area
The receipt of offers and the opening of letters of candidates having answered the Invitation to Tender relating to the selection of the developers of Cala Iris's New Tourist Area took place on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 10 am (deadline of the receipt of offers) at the headquarters of the Tourism Department.
Four candidates have submitted an offer, namely:
- The Development Palm grove Group –Actif Invest;
- The Group Avante;
- The Development CDG Group;
- The Sedesa Group.
In six weeks and after the evaluation of offers, the Tourism Department will announce the candidates' classification offers.
The candidate having got the first place will enter into negotiations with the Tourism Department.
This Invitation to Tender is in line with the implementation of the Tourist Development Program of Al Hoceima Province which plans to develop a new integrated tourist area of 340 hectares. It provides mainly for the creation of 10.000 additional beds including 4000 hotel beds, 2500 beds in hotel management and some entertainment equipments.

Palm grove Development : National group operator in different fields of activities (tourism, leisure, property, economical housing, industry and service sector) and developer of tourist projects in Morocco such as “Golf Palace Palm grove” and “The Gardens of the Palm grove” in Marrakech.
Actif Invest: A management company representing investment Funds in Tourist and Property assets, Maghreb Siah Fund, launched by the BMCE.
CDG Development: It gathers the operational subsidiaries of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (Med Z: developer of tourist areas, industry and service sector, CGI: tourist and property promotion, Sogatour: hotel operator….)
Avante Group: A Spanish group created by the former President of Fadesa, working mainly in the tourist and property promotion and the development of big tourist areas.
Servicios Excavaciones (Sedesa): A Spanish group present in different fields of activities including construction, promotion and development. It is specialized in leisure, co-owner of 2 parks in Spain (“Terra Mitica” and “Terra Natura”) and developer of the oceanographic park in Valencia .
