Mr Boussaid presides over a steering committee meeting in charge of Agadir's PDRT follow-up
Mr Boussaid, the Minister of Tourism and Handicraft, has called on the professionals of tourism in Souss-Massa-Draa region to double efforts so as to create the success conditions of the Tourist Regional Development Program (Agadir –PDRT).
During the fourth meeting of the steering committee in charge of the follow-up and implementation of the PDRT held on Friday, November 9, in Agadir, Mr Boussaid affirmed that Agadir destination abounds with huge potentialities which turn it into a leading tourist resort, hence the need to accelerate the accomplishment of the different building–sites launched
Moreover the Minister has put much emphasis on the role played by tourist activities in the national economic fabric, by virtue of its contribution to the GDP, its investments volume and its job opportunities.
For his part, the Wali of Souss-Massa-Draa region, governor of Agadir-Idaoutanane region, Mr Rachid Filali, has gone over the actions which have been undertaken since 2004, with a view to developing tourist activities in Agadir and in the whole region, and more particularly the encouragement to tourist investments, the participation iin tourism professional trade-shows and the reinforcement of basic infrastructures.
Signed last April with an overall cost of 38 billion DH, the Tourist Regional Development Program of Agadir is a contract binding together the Government, Souss-Massa-Draa regional Council, the CRT and the city of Agadir .
